Heat Pump Rebates & Incentives

Efficiency Maine heat pump rebates are often available for qualifying heat pump installations in Freeport and the surrounding coastal Maine region.
Royal River Heat Pumps is a registered Efficiency Maine contractor and we manage the entire rebate process on your behalf. During your free initial consultation, we’re happy to review current program guidelines and outline what rebates your upgrades would qualify for.
Efficiency Maine Heat Pump Rebates
Efficiency Maine offers incentives for qualifying heat pump installations, including ducted heat pumps and ductless mini-splits. Program details and eligibility requirements change periodically, and rebate amounts vary based on system configuration and home type.
Rather than listing specific dollar figures that may become outdated, Royal River Heat Pumps will provide current rebate information as part of your written proposal. You will know exactly what qualifies before moving forward.
Then, once your installation is complete and payment is made, we prepare and submit the required documentation. Efficiency Maine sends the rebate check directly to you.
Heat Pump Installation Driven by Performance, Not Rebate Amounts
We’ve seen too many heat pump companies select equipment not because it will make the home more comfortable or efficient, but because it qualifies for a higher rebate.
A common example is putting an oversized single-zone heat pump into a main living room to meet the threshold for the highest rebate amount. But that living room may only need half that capacity.
What happens is that the room heats up quickly and becomes overly warm. The central thermostat shuts the unit off. Meanwhile, bedrooms and bathrooms receive little to no heat and begin to cool down. The homeowner ends up adjusting thermostats constantly and never experiences balanced comfort. Yes, they qualified for the highest rebate, but they’re never truly happy with their new system.

At Royal River Heat Pumps, we will never take that approach.
Every system we install is designed to perform properly in your home, with balanced temperatures, steady airflow, and long-term efficiency in Maine’s climate.
If the best design for your home qualifies for a strong rebate, that is a benefit. If a different configuration provides better comfort and durability but a smaller rebate, that will be our recommendation, and we will explain why.
For us, proper system design comes first, and incentives follow. That’s the only way to create true lasting value for your home.
