Heat Pumps Can Cut Carbon Emissions

According to this article from NPR, Taking on Climate Change at Home: How You can Cut Carbon Emissions, heat pumps are an efficient alternative to heating with fossil fuels, and they provide cooling as well. There is a misconception that you can’t heat your home in Maine exclusively with heat pumps, but that is simply not true. The technology has improved dramatically in recent years and Mitsubishi heat pumps can heat at 100% capacity to -5 degrees. They wont’ stop working there. Even though they start to lose some efficiency below -5, (on those few days we have each year that are that cold), they still work. They are one of the most efficient and affordable ways to heat and cool your home. With Efficiency Maine rebates up to $1500 on qualifying systems, there has never been a better time to buy a new heat pump system. Call 207-400-4065 to learn more.
